Mesh
As
a unit indicating the dimensions of mesh
,it indicates the number of mesh within
a lineal distance of 1 inch(25.4mm). In
case it is not recognizable due to smaliness
of mesh ,use a magnifying glass for
measurement.
wire
It is shown as the thickness of wire itself
,or by the number of the wire gauge list.
Unless sepcifically designated ,B.W.G
shall apply when it is thicker then #3O,
and S.W.G when thinner.
Opening
The distance
between the inside surfaces of adjacent
parallel wire and the opening is calculated
by the following formula.
Opening(mm)=25.4(mm)χmesh - wire dia(mm)
Open area
Gives
the percentage of open area in a standard
wire mesh.
Opening(mm)
2
Open
Area(%)=()x 100
Opening(mm)+ Wire dia(mm)
